You can never go wrong with gold. Why not raise the stakes on your next poker night with a sleek new set of “Gold Rush” poker chips? I love the feel of these Claysmith Gaming poker chips! The 13.5 gram poker chip is just the right weight for a real casino feel and the intricate designs and inlay artwork are visually stunning.
The chip design was modeled after the historic “Golden Nugget Casino” chips. Each poker chip displays a vibrant gold nugget set in the center of a wood grain wagon wheel surrounded by a golden band of black diamonds and has twelve decorative lines in groupings of three around the border of the chip. The denomination is clearly shown on the top, bottom and both sides of the inlay. These poker chips would make a great addition to any collection. So why settle for anything less when you could go for gold?

Recently my dad got remarried and had no idea what to do for the honeymoon. We tossed a few ideas around and I suggested that he go to Las Vegas for a week. He had a good bit of money saved for whatever he decided on so he really liked the idea and went with it. Neither he nor my step mom had been so they both had a great time the entire week. They hit up all the famous casinos and sights, had a few drinks and somehow managed to come back with more money than they went with. So if you’re looking for a fun and romantic honeymoon idea, consider Vegas.

One thing I’ve noticed about a few players whenever I’m at a poker game is that many of them like to listen to music when they play. After thinking about it, it began to make sense to me. Many people use music to help them with other things such as meditation or exercising, so why would poker be any different. Music for many people is calming and can help you keep a level head at the poker table and keep you from making some less than wise bets. The type of music depends on the person usually, but I’ve noticed it does seem to help keep players in the game longer.

Plastic playing cards proved their worth to me this weekend at a tournament I came across over the weekend. The entire place was a big dirty mess, covered in food scraps and spilled drinks everywhere, including the playing tables. I half expected the cards to be worn out after just a few hands, but to my surprise they were in the same great condition hand after hand. It got to a point where I was trying to find anything on the card to call an imperfection, but I couldn’t find anything. They cleaned off easily, didn’t bend or crimp in the corners, but most surprisingly lasted an entire game on a table with spilled liquids everywhere. Plastic playing cards are officially great and have my seal of approval.

One of my favorite games to play either competitively or just for fun is without doubt billiards. “Pool” as it’s commonly referred to as, is a great game to play with friends as well as in a tournament at a pool hall or a bar. With that being said, when I began creating my game room I knew I had to have one. So I purchased my billiards table but something just didn’t feel right, something was missing. Then it dawned on me that I needed one of those stained glass lamps that you always see over the table. Luckily they’re very easy to find and relatively inexpensive. So now with my new table and lamp my game room is hitting new highs.

The best part of roulette is the fact that you basically have no better odds than the person sitting to your right or left at the table. No matter what type of numbers you play and bet on, the odds never change, you either win or you don’t. The only way that your luck or your odds can change is if you find a “biased” roulette wheel. This is when a roulette wheel has a flaw of some sort that will cause the roulette ball to land on a particular number more than usual. Finding a biased wheel would take thousands of spins but is potentially the only way to increase your odds.

While looking around for a few new card games to try out, I came across many that I was unfamiliar with and much less had even heard of. I found a list of many different types of card games from all over the world. Games from different countries all have different play styles and rules. I haven’t had the chance of trying them out, but I have saved a few that I like and I hope to give them a shot very soon. If you’re bored with playing the same games, have a look at different games from around the world, see if any of them catch your attention and try something new.
